Something doesn't feel right. Looks more like a Trabant then a Datsun, even the old 1000. Could be wrong though.

you h ad a choice between a lada and a trabant and someother one i cant remeber.

 

they had the weirdest collum shift set up ive seen.

 

i think uptill the late 90s you could buy premixed gas at the pumps.

 

you would place an order to the government and then if youre lucky 10 years later youd be elligible to buy a car.. you could buy used but they cost more used then new.

Rear window?... they do in Canada. You'd have to order the glass and put it in. Best bet is a small fan.

trouble defrosting a pickup...WHAAA?? thats the best part about a truck, it's a small space, so as long as the water stays out and the heater works good, you're set!

 

and if not, far fewer windows to scrape :D

Back to the car in question, he could probably sell it if he said it was a Trabant (which it is) instead of a Datsun (which it isn't). Trabis may be POS, but they don't exist here.

 

The big question is how the heck did the now-deceased nephew get ahold of a Trabant in the US, even just the Trabant's biodegradeable bodies aren't something you find over here. The picture does NOT look like Reno. Sniff... sniff... hmm, smells fishy.
