I joined the emergency response team at work, and this week is my initial training. I just got my bunker gear today so i thought i would take pictures. enjoy the laugh!

I melted the face shield into a puddle once in a burn building. that bunker gear can really take the heat.

today we did hazmat training...and you should have seen those suits!! LOL!! they all take pictures of me because of the way my hair looks when i take off suits/helmets/whatever. i looked like an orange michelin man today. they also hooked me up to O2 for the first time today and man...that felt DIFFERENT! hearing yourself breath is scary, since the only time i remember hearing that is when my grandma was in ICU...so it freaked me out a bit at first. tomorrow we have obstacle courses and smoke houses so that should be pretty fun. SUPPOSEDLY...our plant has one of the best ERT's in the country, they go to Texas A&M industrial fire school every year, and from what i have heard (they may just be tooting their own horn) they are one of the top 3 teams in the country. im sure that is going to go down now that they have a ratsuner on there though! LOL!!
