I cant serious charging issue Ive replaced everything but the voltage regulator DEAD MONKEY!!!!!!! king of charging issues I need hhhheeeelllpppp

put a micrometer on the positive output on altenator and ground on chassis, start truck. If your pushing 12.8 to 14 than battery is bad if your having issues. If its jumping all over the place its connections, If its a solid number but below twelve its altenator. start truck and turn on lights..... if yellow bad charge system, if not fine. I have a voltage regulator if you need it.

you can check the voltage regulator with a micrometer as well should be reading steady between 12 and 14. You might just need to return altenator 1 out of like 3 of those things are good if you get em from schucks or vatozone.

man this alternator deal has been a mess I have tried 2 new alternators when installing the 2nd it was a big fiasco the bracket broke so i had to go walking around boise to find one and everyone was so confused when i told them "no seriously any bracket will do even a piece of steel with a hole and a slot" then got the bracket on and the threads on the new alternator were stripped. is it easier to just put a used datsun regulator on or buy one of those solid state ones farmer joe is talking about?

 

I could use one of the long :)bolts that hold on the alternator as well if anyone has a spare around too

Where: albertsons on 12th and greenhurst in nampa/parma motor vu parma idaho drive-in.

 

What: Meet at albertsons in nampa at 12th and greenhurst at 7:45 pm dont be late... We leave for parma at 8 oclock for the 8:45 showing of dinner for schmucks... possibly staying for the 10:20 showing of inception. Theres a gas station at albertsons if you need to gas up.... Admission is $7 and kids under 11 are free

well it all depends on how much everyone knows about caldwell...

 

since yall are coming from nampa, i think the best way to get over here would be hittin the nampa/caldwell blvd to caldwell.

 

 

i think the best place for everyone to meet up would prolly be at the RITEAID on blaine ST. right by the tacohell and the rent a center.

 

its and easy parking lot to get in and out of, and its a direct shot over to centenial so we can get out to p-town...

What year is it?

My issue was because the alternator they gave me was not internally regulated. Got an internally regulated one and worked fine.

I have an extra regulator for the ones before '78 i fyou need on

'78 went to internally regulated alts

Your efforts aren't going unnoticed

Overtime, plus GF worked late last night, plus mountain bike being stolen and birthday party stuff coming up just did not have the energy to come out...that and I have like $5 to my name until monday.

 

@ sickboy, if you wanna come over to my place Tuesday/Wednesday to look at the charging issue I'd be happy to help. I have I may be able to give you to swap out, etc. Lemme know.

My date left me for a dirtbiker Guy and Chester didn't have a date so he ended up having a date with some porn and Cheetos later that night. We couldnt get Erik to come so we came to him and made him the official first member... he better post a picture of his club sticker so you can see what you get when your good little boys and girls.
