Loco2crasy
I have a 74 620 bagged all around and I was wondering if I need to keep my torsion bars or can I just cut them off right before the cross member. I really don't know if they hold the cross member in place when you brake or something like that. Any help please Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Do the bags take the place of springs? If so, you don't need the torsion bars. But don't cut them off, unbolt them. Quote Link to comment
Loco2crasy
Yeah the bags take place of springs. I removed the bolt from the bottom A arm and try to hit it out but it does not budge. Do they suppose to just slide out or is there something else holding them in. Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
On the torsion crossmember there are 2 "C" clips that need to be removed before the bars will slide out. I used needle nose pliers to get mine out. Quote Link to comment
SHADY280
those c clips are also under some rubber covers. they really dont just appear that easy at first until you know what to look for. Quote Link to comment

74datsun620
loco2crasy, could you post pictures of your truck body drop and how many inches did you go, Thank You. Quote Link to comment
Loco2crasy
Its about a 2/12 drop maybe close to 3 inches with out cutting the floor for the tranny, could have gone a bit lower if i did. Here it is after i did the drop. could of got it to the floor if the cross bar that the carrier bearing sits on was not there. Quote Link to comment
