DatsunMotorSports
Hey guys, I bought a new pickup cab for my 71. I had 2.5 already, but they were toast from rust or accident damage. So Im putting the new cab on my old truck frame and I want to be sure I have all the vin locations. I can only find the 2 obvious ones. Bulkhead center, engine bay :ID plate Driver door rear column, near latch :ID plate Are there any VINs stamped into the cab or frame? I didnt see one in the dash either. I will have to go through a VIN verification with the DMV when I go to register this thing so I want to have my bases covered. Thanks Ray Quote Link to comment
Jester
I know the 620's had one on the right side frame rail next to the engine mount. Not sure about the 521's. Might take a look though. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Phone the DMV and ask what they look for or expect. My stuff shows a door tag and an engine tag on the cowl above and behind the valve cover. Also there is a number (presumably stamped) on the cowl. The diagram shows it somewhat toward the pass side on cowl. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
The Datsun 620 Pickup factory service manual shows the location of these items. I recommend investing 10 bucks in one. Quote Link to comment
