Brett scored today @ the Junkyard. I saw an RX8 and we went straight for the seats! Going in his B2600.

We got the Frontier Running...Loud Knocking for sure, but it does run! So looking for a decent KA to swap in.

Pull the engine. Roll it over. Pull the pan. Pull the rod caps and see if the damage is confined to the bearings. It probably isn't because most people are too stupid to stop once it starts knocking. Measure the rod ends to see if they're still round. If the rods are okay you can get a reman crankshaft and new bearings. It is possible to replace the crankshaft without removing the head from the block or the pistons from the cylinders. If the rods are not still round you're probably better off finding another engine. Honestly it's probably even money between a used engine or repairing yours (if it's JUST the crank).
