Looking for a L16 Block

Some idiot used JB Weld to patch a hole where the oil snsor goes. When the machine shop tried to put a plug in to fix it the metal was too thin. Drilled right thru it. I need the block for my rebuild.

The Nissan oil sender is not metric thread. It's actually BSP British Pipe Thread or BSPT (Taper) I forget. If you drill out to an oversize and use BSP tap size you should be able to get a BSP brass adapter fitting that will allow the stock oil pressure sender to screw into it. Got to be cheaper than another block of unknown history.

I agree with Datsun Mike, a good machine shop would even know you coud get an adapter and retap the hole. I know O'Rielys has a buch of different fittings for oil pressure gauges.

If you want to use the stock sender then use BSP thread but if aftermarket gauge and sender then use the US NPT National Pipe Thread tap and the fittings will be as easy to find as a plumbing store.

Those are great ideas but after this guy put the JB Weld everywhere he drilled another hole driectly above the old one. The machine shop here in West Sac tried to drill both of them out so they could put in a cast iron plug and the metal was too paper thin. Drilling grazed the oil resevoir area.....so i think I'm SOL. Luckily I found a block from all the great responses I've gotten from the Ratsun members.

I bought a camaro once that had a hole in the side of the block the size of a fist, they jb welded a chunk of steel into the whole. Last time I bought a car in the dark. Drove it for about 200 miles before it started leaking coolant.
