datsun65
I also was able to purchase the same seal from an MGA (BMC Motor) from Moss Motors which fit my E1 engine. I think it was part #91 http://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=29211 Quote Link to comment

mklotz70
as far as I know, all the rigs with E1's and J13's had felt seals. My E1 has a rubber front seal, but the serial number on the engine put's it way newer than anything prior to '70. Most likely, mine was a fork lift motor....or one of the low mileage ones sent over from Japan. I got the seal from Motorpower Inc....which supplies fork lift parts. Maybe the front covers on the J15's had the same rubber seal? BUT.....the rubber seal will not fit in the front cover designed for the felt seal.....and vice a versa. Quote Link to comment
