520datsun
Took me a couple years but when i found it, it was amazing...the guy owned it for 10 years and the last 3 were spent sitting...went there and it fired up 2nd try...drove it home...or at least half way haha drum brake cylinder blew and i had to run it into a curb to stop...none the less i got it home and started work immediately... this is how it looked after test drive... this is 3 hours after perchase... had a small exhaust problem but that was fixed that day using the same pipe in sections to make a sick straight pipe this is less than 12 hours after its arrival Quote Link to comment

520datsun
take out bump stops fron & rear, 6" blocks in rear and 2 leafs gone, take out front tortions (no suspension at all) Quote Link to comment
Calvin 520
Looks pretty sweet, but I imagine it probably rides like a lumber wagon, No? Is there a way to go low while maintaining a decent ride quality? Quote Link to comment
Bob3
Looks pretty sweet, but I imagine it probably rides like a lumber wagon, No? Is there a way to go low while maintaining a decent ride quality? The '66 MX520 rides and handles GREAT! It may be as low as this one. It's hard to tell, I'm on 15" wheels, it looks like your on 18"? 520datsun
i was just going to talk about his truck ^^^ lol i was gunna say its rides like crap but its quite fun if you dont have back problems haha because its handles amazing (with that amount of camber and no suspension i can take corners at warp speed) but unless you bag or juice it there really isnt a way to get as low (or the third oprion is to do as mx520 has done and swap suspension) very creative i love it...i will be putting hydraulics on it with a 3 inch body drop and mabey a chop top as well and new frame from engine back very excited and then it will sit on the ground. here's my measurment from the top of my front fender to the ground 18 1/2" super low (note my licence plate is bent and still almost on the ground) thanks for looking guys Quote Link to comment
CharlieBucket
Great collection man. i have 2 trucks and about 6 sets of 6 lug wheels. your right, cant ever get enough. I don't ever buy new tires and put them directly on a vehicle, always have a backup set ready to go! Quote Link to comment
Bob3
here's my measurment from the top of my front fender to the ground 18 1/2" WOW - that's low! I'm not that low with the MX520. I'll check tonight and post the front fender height. Quote Link to comment
520datsun
haha ya its very very low the front crossmember is like 2 inches from the ground...and it tucks alot of the 17" rims Quote Link to comment
Bob3
The MX520 front fender is 23" off the ground. My frame is 4.5" off the ground. I am running Spec Miata race suspension and I have about 1.5" of shock travel. Quote Link to comment
520datsun
Got me beat on the amount of shock haha...my entire suspension in the front is bottomed out schock itself...it's the only thing stopping it from the frame hitting the ground Quote Link to comment
