SRSANDS
Do I hook up the advance from my match box dizzy to the one port on my cannon manifold? Some have told me using a weber 40 dcoe its not necessary. Some have said thats why I am peaking early in my RPMS....What did you do??? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Nissan dizzys are built to use ported vacuum for their advance. You can use manifold it it's modded. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
It's true, vacuum advance is not needed. Use it if you want more part-throttle power. It doesn't do anything at full throttle. It does make the engine a bit smoother a for normal driving. Just make sure the diaphragm on the distributor is not leaking. Quote Link to comment
SHADY280
my dizzy builder says to never hook it up unless your grandma is going to drive. none of my dattos run vac advance, these dizzies come curved perfectly factory Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Shady, that's perfectly true if you never drive at part throttle. If you do (for example, cruising along on the highway) then you achieve less efficiency. Also it will have less power on transition. But for full throttle, it is perfect. Is why drag cars disconnect the vacuum advance. Quote Link to comment
hughdogz
"Real" drag cars also weld the vacuum advance plate, along with the spider gears in the diff :D Quote Link to comment
SHADY280
that loud pedal has 2 positions, on and off Quote Link to comment
