pl521sss
I bought a set of these from Autozone for the tailights in my '64 Fairlane. They wouldn't work in the Fairlane's DC generator electric system and, to be fair, the package suggested they might not work in a vintage system. I tried to put 'em in the wife's '87 Maxima but they wouldn't quite fit in the housings. Finally, I put them in my Datsun's tailights and was shocked to discover that they were not as bright as the almost thirty year old factory bulbs I had taken out !!! I put my original, vintage bulbs back in my 510's tailights and those groovy looking $15 LED bulbs are now gathering dust on a shelf . Oregondime installed license bolt light manufactured by DEI. If I understood what he meant. I got those same license bolt and installed on my cars but.... http://www.designengineering.com/products.asp?m=sc&cid=5 Quote Link to comment

philcas1987
are those bright enough to not run a stock license plate light? My 510 didn't come with stockers. So I picked these up where I work. Stock ones are way brighter. But the led's do look cool. Quote Link to comment

oregondime
im not too concerned on the output :) as long as the license plate is lit up for legalality. does anyone know if these DEI led bolts have resistors built-in? perhaps thats why they burn up so fast. maybe throw a resistor and a voltage regulator and cross the fingers Quote Link to comment
