Idk about all that.

 

The ca has some ups over the sr and the sr over the ca. I'd say its preference.

 

Timing chain vs belt is another preference thing, each is good and bad in dif ways.

 

No one of either is clearly better then the other.

 

Well said. However I'm gonna have to dissagree with the IRS is better than solid rear comment... its that same deal as what you said above, preference. The ae86 drifts VERY well with its solid axle 4link rear, and there are plenty of "muscle cars" drifting, and doing very well... the only reason why one might assume that IRS cars "drift better" is cause the are more popular, and the reason they are more popular? they are a cheaper/easier platform to build in the long run... and the s30 rear suspension DEFINATELY is not the best for building a drifting platform around.
