athoose
I am looking for a fuel pressure tester to check my 200sx F/I system with. Which I believe is bosch . Would this tester works? Seems like it would but it says, except bosch etc... Any recommendations? Thanks http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=92699 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
All you need is a gauge to connect ot the Schrader valve (looks like a tire stem valve) Datsun system is medium pressure, so just about any gauge should work. Yes that Harbor Freight gauge should work. Not sure how you'll test if it is calibrated correctly. Maybe you can test it on a Tire and compare to what the tire gauge says. Pressures are similar. athoose
If the schrader valve indicates a "bosch" system then I have something else. For testing my 200 you just slip the gauge with a T fitting in between the filter outlet and the fuel rail. I think this tester will work and will go to HF to grab one in a minute. As for calibration, I will test a couple of systems and cross my fingers. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
For under $10, just get it! Quote Link to comment
athoose
I went ahead and got two. I had to put some thread sealer on it to keep it from leaking. But it appears to work well. Tested my 200sx fuel pressure 30psi at idle and 37 at full throttle which is what the specs are. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Good stuff. I believe there is a vacuum line to the pressure regulator. High vacuum at idle allows 30 lb. to reduce stress on the pump and FI lines. A lowering vacuum signal for full throttle boosts the pressure. Quote Link to comment
