I have the same mirror in my 710 - it's a perfect fit.
They molded the Altima cover piece in a few different colors, so you might not even need to paint one.

Someone back east want a $400 200SX? that's only $2 per SX.

his number wasn't in the ad for the 710, but it was on his other ad for some carbs for sale: 2094378132
...if anyone gets this and wants to get rid of some of the parts, let me know - I have no space for multiple Datsuns at the moment!

...I'm no longer on the east coast, but I wanted to pass this one along. I'm not sure if this is the same orange '74 710 hardtop that was for sale a while back as an abandoned rotary swap - could be. If it is, it's looking a lot better now.

Looks like a '75 HLG620 just hit the yard in North San Jose, CA. No picture up yet. Anyone seen it? Should be a long bed from the VIN code.
I stopped by today - blue/blue interior. It looks later than '75 since it has the newer style grille. timing cover/dizzy gone, steering wheel and door panels removed - some of the stuff is in the bed under the camper shell. Still has some usable stuff though, I think! I forgot to check for intermittent wipers - those would be nice on the 710. D'oh!

It is in the mounting. The 280ZX brake master cylinder bolts to the adapter and then to the stock 610 brake booster. The 280Z booster WILL NOT bolt with an adapter to the stock 610 brake booster. I am running the 15/16 280ZX brake master cylinder and 280ZX adapter with no issues.
Where do you get the adapter to attach a 280ZX master cylinder to a 610 booster?
I might need to put a 280ZX master cylinder in my 710, since I just put in the 280ZX struts/brakes.

Are you running an L20B but with an L16/18 rad?????
Ah, so perhaps this is why my car has been running a bit hot since I swapped in the L20B !

The red color in the plastic taillights was actually bleached out by the sun! Red is tricky to make as a durable color - that's why if you see a poster that has been hanging in a sunny shop window for a long time, the colors look very blue - all of the red has been bleached away, leaving the more durable blue ink mostly intact.

That was a fun ride - I'm glad that the 710 didn't fall off a cliff into the Pacific, or plow into a redwood!

What I think is funny is they are from Malaysia, have double-stick tape on the back, but they are "NOS".
Yeah - the two pins don't look like regular Datsun emblem pins, but the double-stick does look old. So maybe just the "NO" part of "NOS."
The quality looks okay & they're chrome plated, so even if they're not Genuine I thought it would be a not-too-expensive way to give a 610 a nice new name.
-
I don't know. But I reeeeally want them to be.
Heck, they have the self adhesive stuff on the back so they can fit aaaannnything. Slap 'em on a F10, shift into reverse, and do some doughnuts.
-
Are these really for the 610? If they are, it is a pretty good deal:

Indy recommended some places where I could pick up some coilovers, and I went over to Troy Ermish's shop today to pick up a pair & Troy welded the rings on to my struts for free. That saves me from trying to find a muffler shop or someone with a MIG welder to do the job!
His shop is only 15 minutes from where I'm staying. Datsun parts that I don't need to send away for in the mail? Woah.

Use your 710 arms, and your already using 280zx wheels so no need for strut placement switching
Okay, cool - I thought that switching sides was for extra clearance for the steering linkage, but it is for clearance for 13" wheels?
-
Got the spring perches off of the 280ZX struts, finally.
Does anyone know - will I need to re-use the arm from the bottom of my 710's struts, or should I use the arm that is already on these 280ZX struts to hook these up to the steering system?
I'm also thinking about switching these left-for-right and right for left, since I read in some of the other posts that there could be brake clearance issues. If I swicth the sides will I need longer brake hoses?
-
Wha? Did you wash the paint off?
Are you going to bring the whole car back to red?

I'll be there! The 710 is just going to need a little attention first. The cross-country roadtrip shook a few things loose.
You're even meeting at the Bay Area Discovery Museum. ...I just moved out to the Bay Area a few weeks ago to find work in museum and exhibit design.

It's always nice to see progress on this one... so many bits to gather.
keep up the good work!

I'm reading this page, getting psyched to put new struts in the front of my 710. Thanks for documenting all of your process!
Where do you go to get new rubber "O" rings to rebuild struts? The ZX struts that are going in are in pretty good shape, but they'll need at least some new oil for sure.

I am truly surprised, and stand corrected. By April, they should have genuine park benches. The law took effect for the '74 model year, and this car is clearly made in the '74 model year. Added later?
I think just a few '74 models still had the older-style chrome bumpers - with big rubber bumper guards and shock absorbers added. My 710 has a door tag from 1/74 and it has the non-park bench chrome bumpers too.

Yeah - I see that your original rear-view mirror was made out of the kind of disintegrating plastic as mine too!
