  1. ok step by step but now it's complete. got a coil from a 1980 720 scored the dizzy with it too. removed the ballast. opened plugs up to .042 and removed the e1 points relay.
  2. i googled and got 1-2hp, 2-5hp, 5-10hp. 10-20 seems fairly high.

  4. use your l16 oil pan and you'll be fine. i put my l20b in and didn't have to do any tranny stuff. directly bolted in. 5 speed is a whole different story.
  5. the paint looks almost like a satin but just a little flatter. i like it. i suppose one could scotch bright any satin color to look flat.

  9. i too have a leak coming from under my kick panel. the side of my truck was smashed at one time so it has cab damage under the fender.:(
  10. if your having trouble removing the rears this has worked for me but others may tell you not to do it. instead of smacking the drum smack the center of the hub. for some mechanical reason it knocks the axle loose from the drum. on all four make sure you leave the lug nuts on so you dont bang up the threads.
  11. loosen the star wheel adjusters as loose as they will go. then if you have to use a sledge do it. you'd burn up 50 dremel discs trying to get it off. this is where the phrase use a bigger hammer comes into play.:D also spray loads wd-40 inside from the backside. you can never use too much wd-40.

  14. make sure you use a l20b oil pan from a truck. a car oil pan wont fit. so if your donor engine came out of a car you will need to source a oil pan to swap. the sump is 2 inches more forward in a car (same bolt pattern though) so you wont even be able to get it in. if you dont know what your donor engine came from then its time to break out the tape meaure. we'll cross that bridge when it comes bro. peace

  16. the best of both worlds. in my world at least. my 521 next to my 70 torino gt fastback. i'm so stupid for getting rid of that car. i was young and dumb though. i really like the american muscle. i think 70 was the best year as far as the body stlyes. also if i get in a wreck in my 521 i have zero chance of making it out of that tin can. no jaws of life needed, just pour me out. is it worth it? HELL YA IT IS.

  18. damn i bet that thing is fast with a sr in it. what year is your truck? i do think it would look much better with the factory tach in it. unless you find a cool way to mount a aftermarket one in the cluster. might be a lot of work though.

  23. seeing that the 620 came out in 72 also i dont see that many 72 521"s (not sure how many were made) more so i see the 71's. the 3 point seat belt's are kinda hard to find. problem is that they dont retract.:mad: there was a killer write up on a 3 point added to a non 3 point on the nwde forum. i'll try to find it and post it later. no hidden nuts behind the pillars. mike i've never seen a late 71 with a 3 point belt. are we talking built in late 71 or titled in late 71?
