  1. Ehh I could not find the clutch plate on that site?
  2. I've got some from an acura integra and they are bolt-on. Not sure what year or exact model they came from sine I got them with the car.
  3. Haha, I'm just trying to figure out which clutch to get. Now that I have found a good source for the OE roadster clutch kit, I think its a good idea. :P
  4. What size clutch did you get?
  5. Oh cool, this way I can get the 200sx Fidanza flywheel(200mm) and roadster clutch. Should be sweet.
  6. I've heard the fidanza should bolt on for 200 and 225mm clutches? Anyways, I can always get a grippier fidanza clutch later($300!). I'm hoping just the bolt on ZX NA after market clutch/FW should be the most simple way to get it running. Besides, the fidanza should be lighter than any OE 200mm ones, yeah? Hopefully using this car mostly for autoX, track, backroads so I dont care much if its not the best for road use. Unless there is a good reason why not to, I'll go with the ZX setup. Seems like the least hassle for getting all the correct parts.
  7. Well, I'm about to order a 280zx Fidanza steel flywheel unless anybody gives me a really good reason why it would not bolt on. Only $230, so its cheap enough to afford and i've head good things about these.
  8. Woah thats loooow! How do you avoid hitting the fenders all the time? Looks epic!
  9. Oh look, progress! The correct transmission kit got here, and I got the case apart. Its in decent condition, the gears are a little worn, but not bad enough to cause worry.
  10. Awesome! Cant wait for the finished look.
  11. Hoping to make it tomorrow, or Sunday pending on how my car repairs go today(toyota).
  12. Cool, should be fun. I'm assuming there is no age limit on this? I'm hoping to bring my toyota down and see how it goes.
  13. OK lol, I'll go back and pull everything I can. Its a 80' model, not a 79' so its got a Z20 engine I think. It was fuel injection, similar block to my L20b but the head was different. I think the dist was there. Ok lol. I'll be back. Maybe I can get my brother to help me with it some weekend.
  14. Hmm, maybe I'm a retard, or maybe the bolts where stripped but I attempted to remove the FW from a 280z and found nothing fit the driveshaft bolts(I do have a full socket set/toolkit...). I'll try to go back and pull out that dogleg(It was 5spd, dunno about dogleg though), also I'm wondering if anyone is in need of some 280zx struts? The shift knob(you meant shift knob, yeah?) as I remember was falling off, it looked to be glued on and someone tried to rip it off. Ignitor coil, I think it was there. E-dizzy? I think you forget I'm very new to this. Is that slang for distributor? Yeah I'll probably get all that then. Just will take longer to get the car running. Ordering the Xmember for the trans at least.
  15. OK then OE it is. Max I can go is $300 for the clutch/flywheel until I get payed again. edit, There is a 1980 200sx at the pick'n'pull around here with intact clutch/flywheel, but I dont have the tools to remove the transmission/driveshaft.
  16. I would but my car has no engine. :) And my toyota starts to feel funny past 4,500RPM's(Not to mention the slushbox). Edit, maybe I'll try to convince my parents to do some abuse to the old toyota... Hmm... What time does it start?
  17. Cool, how much would that be? And you mean I can call nissan and order one?(yes, I am newbie) Ahh, I didnt notice that. I dont think the trans still has a t/o, I have lots of parts though. I can check tonight when I get home. I can get a crossmember on ebay for $80... Was going to pick that up today. The driveshaft is already shortened for the ZX trans. As I was originally going to do, I could go with the ZX clutch and flywheel. http://cgi.ebay.com/...ce#ht_928wt_942 http://cgi.ebay.com/...#ht_1822wt_1165 I would assume it would work fine, since its a ZX trans and the JDM ZX had a L20b option. edit, I just want to know if it will work. I don't care if its a crap clutch. Edit, just found a centerforce clutch, sachs flywheel, and flywheel bolts all for pretty cheap. http://www.partstrai....html?location= http://www.partstrai...8W45d204bec356b Maybe that would work? Edit, well this is stupid. Apparantly the 280zx 2 seater has a 225mm flywheel, the 280zx 2+2 and turbo have 240mm. But lots of manufacturer list their flywheel as being compatible with all models?
  18. I'm guessing this has been posted many times before, but I have not found an exact answer searching previous forum topics. I have an L20b, and a 280zx 5-speed transmission I do not have a clutch of flywheel. I have about $200 to spend on it(Willing to go over if its REALLY worth it), and I cannot find the recommended solutions in any retailers online. I was going to get was a roadster pressure plate, 510 clutch disc, and 200mm L20b flywheel, if anyone has any retailer links or sources where I can get these, or another compatible clutch/flywheel it would be much appreciated! edit, I found an OE replacement roaster clutch. Would it at least work? http://www.speedycarparts.com/sku/Nissan_1600_Auto-Com_Clutch-Kit_1966_1970_ACI31-81013.html
  19. Thanks! And what are you talking about?! Those 210's look slick! edit, contacted the guy on ebay, they sent the wrong transmission kit... sigh.
  20. Ok cool, thanks for the help. So something like this roadster clutch kit for the pressure plate, http://www.speedycarparts.com/sku/Nissan_1600_Auto-Com_Clutch-Kit_1966_1970_ACI31-81013.html Then maybe this for the clutch disc, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110465145021&crlp=1_263602_263622&ff4=263602_263622&viewitem=&guid=820a7b411290a04370c25de2ffffe243&rvr_id=&ua=%3F*S%3F&itemid=110465145021#ht_500wt_956 And i'm still searching for a flywheel, hehe.
  21. Hello... Dont worry, it will be ALOT lower when it has a motor. I have become a fan of goons after buying my own. Though the left fender is brown and the hood is red, repainting them soon to primer. Also its a bit worse than it looks in my blurry pic.
  22. I'm assuming double posts are OK, since its not in the forum rules saying otherwise. Are Valeo clutches any good? google'ing now. Also some other questions in my post above... http://cgi.ebay.com/...=item2c50b94ee5 EDIT, also on the calipers, can I paint them with regular rustoleum primer and paint, or should I use that high temp stuff?
  23. @purepontiackid, Hey did you ever get a new rear fender for that ZX? Theres a ZX in the picknpull around here with an intact rear right fender.
  24. Woah that nice, grats! It looks to be in great condition, from the pictures. Are those 13 inch wheels?
  25. The flywheel I have is a 5-bolt from an L16, so its not going to work. I was going to go with zx clutch/flywheel since i'de assume its the highest chance of being bolt-on with no problems. Edit, I forgot to mention the previous owner called me and he has found the keys to the locking gas cap. So its nice I don't have to drill it off! edit2, Oh also I have seen that in the junkyard around here theres a 280zx with complete front struts/brakes, are used calipers any good vs remanufactured? edit3, Also what size tires to run on my 13x5.5 wheels? (YES, I have google'd all of this!) edit4, I noticed that both my brothers car(350z) and my dads car(S2000) block from down shifting to first at 8mph(Z) and 20mph(S2k), does the ZX trans also have this? Is that a synchro problem, or feature?
