  1. In that pic it is hard to tell what that is behind the carburetor.
  2. They could be aftermarket as they look like aluminum cast covers that have been painted and the Olds front drivers were the most common.
  3. Or Olds? Redneck version of a GT40 bed of snakes! 🤣🤣🤣
  4. A few years ago he was doing exhibition runs with one of his old 62 Chevy super stock that he had updated the old 409 W motor with modern tech and it was wicked fast, low 8s if I remember right.
  5. Corporate greed is ruining a lot of good products. Originally Optima batteries were made here where I live but after they were bought the new owner moved the plant to Mexico, the price went up and the quality went down. How anyone with a conscience can lower costs while raising prices is beyond me. 😟
  6. Back in the 60s and 70s they were fairly good compared to the competition but technology got better and the F brand got cheaper! 😟
  7. I just edited my reply, they did make a 637ci V8 version of the V6 but that pic is not it.
  8. I only remember GMC making V6 and V12s for their trucks but the V8s came from Pontiac or Oldsmobile. I did some research and found that they did build a 637 ci V8 for larger trucks and buses but it didn't look anything like that engine as it was the same design as their large V6 with 2 cylinders added.
  9. Must be Cadillac then, but wait Caddys didn't come with a manual? 🙄🤣
  10. This one used to cruise by my gas station in Albuquerque with the blower screaming every once in a while. It had a glass coffee table with a functional HO train inside in the back! 😀
  11. I don't know which I like more, the Cammer or my other Ford fav the Boss 429. 🤩
  12. At least I was in the right neighborhood, it was a GM engine I should have known.
  13. It looks like a Chevy with custom heads to me.
  14. That engine has intake and exhaust ports on the same side so probably still has larger intake valves. I don't know what they were trying to do since cross flow works better in most cases.
