This one is a steal at the price for the condition many of the parts are in, bumpers, panels, glass, lights. and is complete. I'd buy it but it is way too nice! I need a destroyed with no bringing back to life, parts car.
-
Surprisingly......... That black Rl411 turned out to be a lot nicer than the pictures showed. Has solid floors, fenders, roof. Engine turned over after soaking the cylinders for a couple hours. Will put it on the back burner and collect parts for it, Only major thing it needs is a RH quarter panel. As far as 2dr conversions go, I would buy a set of 2dr door shells from japan have them shipped. Next move the Door pillar back far enough for it to now mate with the attached "2dr" Door. then use the set of rear door skins to fill in the quarter area. Its pretty simple, finding the doors would be the tricky part. Mike dropped the price to $900! go get it https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/6036957034.html

no plans on selling anything, might hang on to, or do some trading down the road. The plates are pretty beat up. I usually just put stuff away then ask myself "why I have 13 Datsun 411 spare doors" ???
-
no no, RL411 dealer installed badging! And a well weathered datsun license plate frame.
-
The car even came with a Datsun dealership license plate frame!
-
Scored these off the ebay, 25 bucks! Then came home to find this in my driveway.. will likely throw a tarp over it as-is and store it away. R16, manual trans. Hoarder status. Still no progress on my tan 411 :( hoarding is taking up too much of my time.

Hi Mike, what year sephia?! very valuable info.
-
he has a complete spare running r16, I bet you could have him toss it in for the asking price. spare engines and parts are so easy to find for the R16, so many datsun roadsters, clubs and forums specific to the roadster. The roof skin would be another very easy replacement, You should jump on that car. just don't throw anything away if you buy it, RL411 r16 has some specific parts on it for fitment, header, thermostat housing, finned aluminum oil pan. and some others I can't remember.

Easier to act first and then ask for forgiveness later. :)

I booked with a shipper for the 9th or 10th, we'll see if it gets here! total cost was $320 on Uship, seems fair. Hopeful that it works out. would bring grand total to $870, I wanted to stay under a grand, looks like I'm in good shape.
-
Having a bastard of a time trying to get that black car shipped up here, any recommendations? striking out on Uship.
-
I didn't see the red car in person but from what I hear, it is in very good shape. other than the obvious/ windshield rubber/engine work/roof skin. I know he is flexible on price within reason. Might be able to get it for a grand. This black car Is pretty rough and with no title is destined to be a parts car. has been sitting for 30 years. I know the guy selling them and ended up working out a deal sight unseen, I figured with the price that I paid, I couldn't lose. Will be having a shipper get the car up here to me.

I have boxes of trim and parts and as well as half a room in my basement dedicated to 410/411 sheet metal, trim and bits.
-
I'm going to use what I can off the car sell some parts, will park the complete shell and numbers matching engine block in one of my garages. throw a tarp over it and maybe in 15 years I'll have another fun project maybe a 2dr conversion, I have near 12-14 spare doors. I never throw anything 411 away.
-
Well here's the update- I just bought the Black parts car RL411 that was posted in SF bay craigslist. pretty complete, manual transmission. Plans are to use the front and rear suspension in my 410 then swap the manual trans into my SSS 411.

Sent PM, have spare windshield, located in Klamath Falls, OR> Is your price for Front and rear seats?
-
I was hoping that the upholstery was better under the vinyl, however I am very happy that they still have original material underneath. I will also have them duplicated when I go in for interior.
-
They are not all this nice, front seat buckets are worn on the bottoms, back seat top is sun roached. and it takes much elbow work to get this upholstery spray glue off. Will have to make these work until I can budget new interior.
-
So when I get off work, I try to do little projects on the car, This week I'll be stripping the seats, I thought someone had completely redone them. Luckily for me they were just wrapped and what is under, so far looks very promising. Before reminds me of riding a school bus when I was a little kid. just need to use some rubbing alcohol to remove the upholstery glue residue, no rips or tears so far. Will throw up some more photos tonight, hopefully everything is similar condition.
-
that is too bad, I'm likely the only Datsun guy in my city.
-
Yeah the black one has rusted out pans and quarter panels, seized engine but mostly complete otherwise. The red car was from washington state, little rust but roof got dented pretty bad, might be able to straighten it out but the roof skins are so easy to swap its silly. Im sure prices are OBO.. Look into it! I know that red car came with piles of spare parts, Id love to get one of the spare manual transmissions... just because :)
-
Yeah, the guy selling those cars is a trusted seller. I actually bought my SSS from him, If i was closer I would buy the black one for parts. Or buy 2 and swap the roof onto the red car.
-
Yeah it looks awesome but I'm not brave enough to run without bumpers.
-
Coupe would be really cool. My old bumpers were twisted so I swapped a good straight set onto my car and removed the bumper guards. You can see the difference on the first page compared to the more recent pictures.
