oh and the whole reason the radiator blew was because the previous owner ghetto rigged the radiator cap with some glue so the radiator couldn't relieve pressure :(

Old motor out! Look at that milkshake oil that came out of it :( Now the old girl got her new motor.... L16, a87 head, matchbox dizzy, l20b cam, weber dgav, nice L16 exhaust mani, msd ignition, 105 amp chevy alternator, new starter, toyota radiator and some new NGK's...

gather around its story time! :D Friend needed help moving furniture about 100 miles away... hes a datsun guy and he helps me out alot figured I would do him a favor back... well guess who happens to have a small pickup.... ME. So I fill up the 521 and check its fluids, and I hit the freeway.... Im cruisin I84 at 75. People pass and Im getting mad thumbs up... atleast 5 if not more :thumbup: ... Its a Nice sunny day and Im happy :).... Trucks running great! as I switch lanes I have to look behind me because I dont have rearviews... As Im lookin back I see smoke coming out between cab and bed... Im not sure if I really seen it figure it must be glare off the old faded back window... well I start smelling burning... gotta pull over! Pull over, as I come to a crawl Im billowing white smoke!! :unsure: shut her down... pop the hood..... the radiator cap exploded off.... not just the cap.... a perfect circle where the cap mounted... get my phone to call friend... no service! :( radiator seems to have some water left in it... I got to make it 3 miles or so.. I can see exit in distance... I CAN MAKE IT!!! <_< start the 3 mile journey put it in 4th at 30 or so and cruise the side of freeway.. I get to the gas station at the exit turn it off and coast it in.... well I use gas station phone, call friend.. we get some water in there and cap radiator with a wet rag.... go to radiator shop.... on the way it starts missing like crazy DAMNIT BLEW THE HEAD GASKET!!! :poop: :no: :bye: my friend came out and towed me home.... well now the old 521 got a new motor...

so I pulled valve cover off my L16 and looked at cam..... haha it has the little blocks on it that datzen mike described.... does this mean its for sure an L20 cam? probably a L20 head as well...

72 is when datsun went metric.... trucks 72 and before are sae....

ill be there in 521.... with a name tag, should us so idaho guys bring stuff for bbq?
