I had 4" speakers mounted in the 'kick' panels of my 620. Just how much time did I spend putting the grills back on after getting out.
I agree, I'll have to be careful, but if you look at my wagon I have the same set up and I've done good so far.

Small trucks and sound systems, I have a question perhaps you could answer. I have a couple of 10" marine bass tubes, I would like to mount one sideways in the king cab (it wouldn't fit longways with the woofer pointing toward the front of truck.) If mounted sideways, then I would assume a deflector should be mounted in front of the woofer, to reflect the sound and keep the bass from being lopsided. I lack the audio knowledge to figure this out, but know sometimes woofers are mounted facing away from the seats or even two facing each other, so I thought there might be options.
Good question if its a base tub power up throw in back and its best you listen for which is the best way to face them. Base tubs are actually pretty cool, I just don't have any room in this truck and there is nothing really in it.

Oh, that's what kicker means...
I wonder Ray, would your 3D printer guy make me a couple pairs of those?
I can ask him. You need the speakers size though. This is a 3 way set up.

I'm stealing your speaker cover idea. My upholstery guy normally goes over speakers with the same material as the rest of the panel, but your covers look fantastic. I also love how they are an oblique shape, not just a plain shape.
Yeah but Datsun Mike like them though. I hope he does.

Will you hide the amp?
No sir, it will be exposed, however it will blend in with the the black leather on the back caab wall.

Mounted the Alpine amp on the back wall. There is a molded piece from he factory to mount to. I ran some river - Nuts and made a plate to match the amp perfectly and its ready to go. We are going to run Black Leather up the back wall because I can. lolShould blend nice and fits in the seat pockets in-between. Its like magic.

Kick panels are done. So all the leather work is done. Capet is going to be a velour style European carpet from Relicate.com. The design is sort of old school as that's what I was looking for, simple flowing lines. Don't want that everyone else got.

I'm not comfortable trying to weld on front clips or anything like that. I probably will check around to see if I can find a machine shop or metal place that can take a couple inches off the steering column. That would actually make it a little roomier in the cab and decrease to odds of me being turned into a skewer in an accident. I bought a mig/tig/stick welder, which I plan to use for some of the body repair when I get to that stage, but I wouldn't want to weld frame/chassis stuff on my car. I will try to get my welding skills up...but that will take some time. Maybe I can find a friend I don't like and offer to help them weld something. ☠️
By the way...was reading on another chain where some of the old schoolers on here were talking about bending the brake lines with their hands (and a can of peas). I was about to lose my $%#& trying to use a bending tool...was able to use just my hands for most of it and the bending tool a couple times and finish the line on the rear axle in about 20 minutes. There is a lot of value from those contributing here. I appreciate it.
Man your up north Cut the column down 3", I don't know if your a little guy or big guy but it gives you gut room however it brings steering wheel lower as well. If your not going crazy keep the gear box and just cut it. the outer sleeve you cut at bottom at steering box flange and internal actual at bottom as well. Maybe @DARIN 510 can help you out.

This fucker smells better than a Rolls Royce in this truck. Kick panels and carpet left. Carpet will be black, kick panels Red leather as well glued to the body, no aluminum panels. no no
And then for the purist I made sure to smooth the dash at hot rod it a little. I love red because most people hate and I love it. And even if you hate it it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Vinyl covered fiberboard though they can get wet or the vinyl loosen and sag. I've used the old to cut new out of very thin plywood. Almost veneer or paneling. Then cover with vinyl. Upholstery is nice, leather very organic, if color matched to seats/interior. Metal? kind of unpadded, unfriendly to look at or feel. It's a preference, looks good on someone else's vehicle, just not mine.
Read your statement again, the panels are covered you are not looking at metal, and what feel are you taking about ??? What again are you building so I can start taking notes from you ??

A little slower than I like, because I have to figure out shit as I go.
Your truck is beautiful. It's almost a shame to put the bed on it and cover up all the details of the frame and rear suspension.
I hear you Mark, I want this truck done already as well, its been way to long for me. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and it looks to be not a train.lol

Right so either turn the woofer inwards or outwards if I’m reading what you are asking right. See what sounds good to you.
