She has the shifter on the column. Do these come with 4 speeds or 3 speeds like the older chevy's? Also, anyone care to share what position first,second,reverse,etc. Are?

I have a buddy who is good at metal repair. I'll get the rust spots fixed after he's done with the 60 impala rag top he's working on.
Yup. I called like 5 or 10 min after it was posted. I'm getting rid of a few spare items I have sitting here at the house. Already have the buyers in line so after all's said and done looks like she'll cost me around $300-400 out of my pocket plus whatever DMV fees may be.

Its a 1971. I was planning on doing a carb swap with a weber 32/36 but now that you mentioned the cable connected to carb for downshifting I might not.
I also was thinking low tranny fluid, just haven't had a chance to check until later today.
What type of oil is recomended for these trannys?

I just rechecked the techno toy website and the 510 coilover kit is what I was looking to purchase at $199 but since I will be using the 280zx struts will I have to pay $399:eek: for the 240/260/280 coilovers?
Ok , I retracted my bid and will go with the techno tuning ones.

Ill check the u joints. I disconected the drive line the day I towed it home and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. I didn't notice a wobble the one time I drove it either. I only went around my block twice because I'm not sure as to how much gas is in the tank. The PO owner disconected the gauge cluster to add Led's and I have yet to put it back together.
Has anyone experienced their 510 with automatic tranny jerk or lunge when put in gear , whether it be forward or reverse? I'm looking for some ideas before I head out and actually check for myself. I haven't had a chance with this crappy weather and less daylight. I know the obvious one would be to check the oil level. Any other ideas or tips?
Dang, too late. I already bid and will most likely win unless someone outbids me. I did get my 280zx struts today though. $70 bucks for the pair complete with rotor,caliper,pads, and rubber brake hoses. There was a pic here that showed where to weld the bottom mount for the coil. I need to find it.
