  1. Well I blew out my tie rod on the drivers side today :crying: sliding around a corner and hit a pot hole. So the cars down until I get new ones. So while I've got it apart I've been working on getting my 280zx brakes ready to go in. I've overloaded the search function and now my head hurts. Just curious what shock inserts guys are running in their 210s doing this swap. I'm not planning on slamming it on the ground, just a little lower. I don't mind the suspension being pretty stiff. Might cut the springs, might go coilovers. Haven't made up my mind there yet. There's plenty of info for the 510s and from what I've read the rear shocks from the MR2 are the popular choice. Thoughts?
  2. Yes. I took the electric speedo sender from the ka apart to get to gear out of it, drilled and slotted it for the cable and used the housing from a 84 720. Plugged it back in and hooked the cable back on. Tits!
  3. The trucks are going to be leaf springs so you would have to remove your 4 link mounts and re weld them to the new axle. It's been done. And a A10 is an early 80's 510 or violet. I was lucky enough to find the H165 with disk brakes. I've swapped the entire drivetrain and also had to have a new driveline made. Is the R180 out of a roadster? If it is they're also leaf springs. And I don't know what kind of rear end 710s have sorry.
  4. Thanks rusty, I've got this tach working off the ka. The wire is a yellow/red going to the ecu.
  5. You can swap in the rear end out of a 79-83 200sx or A10 as long as it's a 4 link and not leaf springs. I tried to swap in a H165 to my stock drive train but my drive shaft ended up being about 1" too long. Good luck with your search. Good looking car btw!
  6. So after screwing around with that gauge cluster with the tach I ended up doing this with my stock cluster Not 100% happy with it but it'll work for now.
  7. Hey guys, I recently purchased a stock gauge cluster with a tach from a fellow member here and finally have the time to try to get it installed. Got the dash apart and have been looking for the tach wires with no luck. Since this car originally started life with an auto trans they might not be there. I'm having a tough time with the wiring diagram as well so I've decided to just run the wires directly off the back of the tach. So does anybody know which wire is going to have to go where? Back of the tach looks like this I've searched for which wire comes out of the ka ecu for the stock tach and it is a yellow/red. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
  8. Well that plug I'm holding in the pic above is for the clock. I guess I'll keep looking for the tach plug.
  9. Ok guys I need some help. I pulled my gauge cluster out to install the one with the tach. Found the tach plug and its different than the back of the tach. Looks like this Back of tach looks like this Can anyone tell me which wire is supposed to go where? I'm gojng to have to pull the wires out of the plug and the only one that is getting 12 volts is the green w/blue stripe. The others, according to the wiring diagram, go to lights. Which one is the signal wire from the motor? I guess I'm having a hard time reading the diagram (not a 1st by any means!) Any help would be appreciated!
  10. ^^^^Badass! My favorite color combo!^^^^
  11. Stopped on the way home today just for you Redeye! I've been waiting for my kids to get done with football (7-0 baby!) so I can take a weekend and work on my car. I've got some zx front brakes to put together and I also picked up a stock tach instrument cluster from colourbox to wire in. Still doing some research on how to get it to work with the ka. Didnt want to get any comments about get called a noob and learn how to use the search function! Cars not done by any means but it's been almost a year now for the swap and I consistently get 29-32 mpg and the stock 210 isolators are holding up just fine.
  12. Yes, I drive it everyday.
  13. Any luck wiring in the tach?
  14. If you run across another one with a tach, please let me know.
  15. Nice work! I've got my H165 but kept my stock one after seeing that yours held up just in case.
  16. Right on man, thanks! I just want the gas tank btw.
  17. Are they parting it out? ^^^
  18. Yeah sorry! I'll go back to quietly lurking.
  19. Prove of my wrongness! The red gear is out of my old auto and the green is out my manual. Big difference!
  20. I'm not afraid to admit it when I'm wrong. That being said, I am wrong. Sorry guys!
  21. I'm not sure if the housing will swap but you should be able to drive the retaining pin out and swap the gears. Btw, you will lose fluid if you pull them out. If you jack the rear end up far enough it should be minimal.
  22. This is what it looks like pulled out. You can get one with fewer/more teeth to correct the speedo.

    The Free B210

I've got a A15 and 5 speed I'd sell ya. Pm me if interested.
  24. I had to jump the neutral safety switch in the rear harness and the other connections should be for the reverse lights. This is for a 81 210 and not a "b" so take it as such. Good luck.
