  1. Does anyone have recommendations on a mechanic whom will take the B210 head gasket job in Chicago? I've called around but get the same answer..."Don't know how to bill for it and don't work on cars that old." Any ideas?
  2. Excellent help guys. I ordered a head gasket and intake gaskets from rockauto.
  3. Besides not filling up radiator coolant, and normal exhaust without white smoke, does a new gasket result in better sound? better power from the engine?
  4. do I need a whole head gasket set? or just the head gasket?
  5. awesome! Thank you for this! Now which gasket should I purchase? Looked on eBay and prices are around $15-25. Is there a preferred brand to get?
  6. I always replace radiator coolant constantly before each time I drive. Multiple times per day. I have a new radiator and i do not see and fluid leaking on the ground. The white smoke occurred in the warmer weather when I drive it.
  7. How big of a job is changing the head gasket? How much would that average in cost? US dollars
  8. What are the possible causes of white smelly smoke coming from my tailpipe? It gets worse as I drive/as the engine heats up.
  9. It's zero degrees in Chicago and my B210 battery won't hold a charge like it used to. Can anyone suggest the appropriate battery size for this car? '78 B210 2 door sedan.
  10. flippin' awesome. Nice red color. Is that the original black vinyl headliner? If so, it will clean up great using a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Mine is white vinyl and it was the best for cleaning the headliner. Came out gleaming white.
  11. It not my engine bay. I agree with you though.
  12. Sierra. Can you tell me which seller you got it from? Theres a few that are approx. $20 and one that is $30.

Sick green color! Are you looking to paint it?
  14. Is there a clamp I can purchase to keep the black flexible plastic air intake hose from separating from the air cleaner. Forgive me if the words used to describe the parts are incorrect. Its the accordian-looking bendable hose that comes off the grille from the right of the radiator and ends in the light blue air cleaner housing. Name and size of clamp? Where to get one? Thanks as always.
  15. I've heard through reading on this site that the Thai rubber is not as good as other countries. Fact is my trunk totally leaks when it rains and I need a new rubber seal for my trunk. $19.99 on ebay with $20 shipping from Thailand is an option. Are there other options? Has anyone replaced the rubber trunk seal on their B210?
  16. Since my B is in Chicago. I periodically start it in 20 degree to -10 degree (10 degrees below zero) weather and drive it in and out of my garage. (not on the street to avoid the salt) Should I go with the 10W-30 instead of the 15W-40 to make these cold weather starts?
  17. Thanks Gents! Is it the one below? 18. I'm getting ready to change my motor oil and I'm interested to find out what you guys are using and what suggestions you may have. I have a 1978 B210 automatic with 150K miles on it. I drive it in weather between 50-90 degrees. What motor oil would you suggest, be specific.

    Excited: My B

The standard wheel is classic. The "D" surrounded by subtle 70's shapes and the small circumference makes it easy to use.
  20. who did the work on the seat and what was the cost?
  21. Thanks for the post thatdirtykid. I actually use a Meguiars product. I said "armor all" in order for general understanding...similar to using a "Kleenex" even though it may be a tissue of a different brand.
