  1. I have one that is about 1 month old. I am going to switch it out with the larger Weber since the smaller jets are making my engine run too lean. If it does not work out with the other guy selling his I will sell mine but not for that cheap.
  2. It is white , king cab, rebulit engine about 60,000 miles ago. Tons of stuff done to it . New weber carb, clutch master cycliner, clutch slave cyclinfer, complete brake job ( master cylinder , calipers, drums, rotors, wheel cylinders, and brake lines ), new front shocks, new upper and lower ball joints for both sides, newer tires, new power streering high pressure hose, new battery cables, complete timing parts replaced, new custom exhaust, interior is in very good shape, new dash mat, new cv joints , engine barely shakes!!!!(Has 2.4 liter Z24 engine Plus many other odds and ends have been done . I have probally invested over $5000 into the truck in the past 6 months. The truck does have aomw rust rust , especially in the bed area, but I am sure a good body person can fix it up. The only negative is the a/c is not working , but all it needs is the condensor and an evaporator/drier ( I am thinking of fixing this to help sell it along with new fenders for each side since they are so cheap to buy new ) . I am not sure how much I might be able to get for this truck ? Any ideas what this truck might be worth ?
  3. I bought a real nice dash cover that was cut to fit my dash perfectly. I found it on a website just by googling it. There also is a company that sells dash capas that fit directly over your old one so it looks just like a stock dash cover.
  4. i just had some 4" or 4 1/2 " put in those little tiny spaces by your feet. That is all that will fit without doing any cutting. I am sure you cn fit a 6 1/2 " in there if you did some cutting. And being that they sit so low and down by your feet, they do sound pretty weak, so if you are going to mount them there you may need to put a good amp on them to give them some power. What I plan on doing is taking out the 4" ones and I am going to modify it to fit a 6 1/2 " but at the same time I am going to angle it up so it will throw the souns up into the cab. In the king cab there is a little tint space up in the corners where you can pissibly fit a 4x6 possibly. Then again your best bet is to build something that looks good and will fit the speakers you want, becuase these trucks are not very friendly when it comes to mounting larger speakers in them. I am also going to add some bass to the system. There is tons of room in the back where the seats are, but I am not too sure I want to take up much space with a box. So maybe I wil add a 10" in some sort of ported box to get the most bass I can out of a 10" woofer. When I get it done, I will try to figure out how to finally post some pics on this site.
  5. As I have said in previous posts, I have already redone the entire timing system. I bought the timing kit which came with the chain, sprokets, guides and tensioner. So it is not the timing, unless it is just set wrong. My mechanic really knows these engines well , so hopefully when i bring it in (saturday) he may finally diagnose the problem.
  6. Now that it is gotten pretty cold here in florida, it has made my hesitation , and very choppy accelleration even worse when it is not completely warmed up. If I need to start from a complete start I have to give it a lot of gas just to keep it from stalling out as I am getting it in to gear. Then it will start hesitating and "bucking" in second and sometime even in third. I notice the problem does go away somewhat as the engine gets warmer . I am starting to wonder if I might need some clutch work and an adustment to the carb. I thinik it is now time to bring to the shop ! It really suck having these problems. I was told it would go away when I fixed all the timing parts and guides, but that did nothing at all for all the hesitation and bucking of the engine.
  7. i bought a brand new one with an electric choke for $249 in the box w/ maunuals and all and including shipping from a website online. I went on their site and the prices have went up quite a bit in the last 6 months since i bought it.
  8. I have a 83 720 . The bed is rusty in all the usual aspots along the weld line along the sides, and there is alot of rust throughs inside the bed itself. I think the best idea may be to just change the bed to a newer model bed. I have seen pics of people that have put beds from much newer nissans on their trucks. Is there any particular beds that are an easy fit for my truck ? I have a standard size bed. The color does not matter since I am going to get the truck repainted anyways after I end up doing this. Do you guys agree it will be cheaper to just find a new bed at a junkyard and get it installed , or will it be cheaper to try to cut out all the rusted out pieces and doing a bunch of welding ?
  9. I had a similar problem, what fixed it was putting new battery cables in. They were all corroded. When I had my lights on, my car steroe would not work, and when i had the wipers on it also turned the steroe off. Then my low beams both went at the same time, and all I could use were my brights.
  10. Do you have to post a certain amount of times ? How do you get permission to post pics ????
  11. On my truck the drive shaft was making terrible noise, they replaced the u-joints which were in stock at the local parts store for a very inexpensive price. I think they were about $25 bucks or so.
  12. I have taken the dash out and replaced all the black background with white backgrounds. When I did this I had to unplug the cables , and at the time I replaced all the lights and also cleaned up everything. Even after doing this only one more light lit up. There are a couple of lights still not working. I bought these cool blue LED lights that light up your dash real well at night so you can see everything. I did think any of the connectors are bad, it may just be something in the dash itself. The odometer ,speedometer, and rpm gauges still work, but the temp and gas gauge does not. The oil pressure and voltage meters in the ceter console work just fine still.
  13. Do you guys think it is worth trying to get it fixed, or just go with aftermarket gauges ? The fuel tank is fairly new, so it must something with the wiring or something in the dash. As far as the temp gauge I think it is in the dash too. What can I try to get them to work ?
  14. As far as the dome light, I just went out and bought one of those new LED lights that stick to the roof with a magnet or you can use velcroe (sp) . It would be nice though to get it to work so I could use the light for my truck bed at night. But I just don't feel like messing with it.
  15. How fast does a 521 go up to ? One of these days I will see how fast I can get mine going. I just want to make sure everything is running perfectly beforeI really push the engine. Yes there are 8 plugs on this engine. Kind of neat for a 4 cylinder engine. This herky jerky stumbling thing is driving me mad! I am getting sick of bringing it up to the shop. Just last week I was driving down the expresway and some road debrie from construction got into my engine. It put a hole in my new radiator and caused the water pump to break! There went another $460 ! It is a shame I love this truck, becuase lately I have been spending so much money restoring it, I could be driving a brand new truck. Probally for even less money. But this truck is one of the best looking trucks from back in the 80's along with the Landcruisers. But they are in a totally different class. One is a pickup and one is a SUV.
  16. yes brand new weber out of the box. I have a 2.4 liter Z-24 engine. The truck is a king cab 4x4.
  17. i have wires that are about 4 months old on it. I bet they are fine. I have a funny feeling it may have something to do with the clutch. It is getting harder and harder to get it going into first gear without giving it alot of gas to keep it from stalling out. Something is definatly wrong, but my guy just cant figure it out. I am getting sick of fixing things and still having this hesitation problem. I thought it would go away when I redid the whole timing system, but it is still there. Now it is just nice and quiet and can easily do 85 on the highway. I have not pushed it faster, but there is definatly some pedal left to get it going faster. What is the normal top speed on this truck ????
  18. I am going to have my mechanic check all of this stuff and let you guys know. Thanks for the suggestions.
  19. yes i just put a new filter. But I have not had the pump checked.
  20. Recently I have done the following to get my engine working right. New timing kit ( chains, sprokets, guides, tensioner , the whole thing) , new weber carb, new plugs, new wires, clutch master cylinder, new radiator, and new water pump. Even after warming the truck up, it tends to start getting real choppey(hesitating) when trying to accelerate. Sometimes I will take the truck out of gear and give it a few revs, and sometimes it goesw away, and sometimes it does not. I have brought it to my mechanic several times, and he cant seem to figure out what is causing this. Any ideas where I can tell him to look ? Thanks!
  21. Does anyone know of a good shop in the Central Florida area that can help restoring my 720 ? Mechanicly itis all repaired, now I want to redo the interior. It is in descent shape , but I would like to really dress it up. I also need a little body work done due to some rust especially in the bed area. I took some pics of the rust spots and a few others to show engine and interior. I will post them in the next thread.
  22. I need new seats for my 1983 4x4 king cab 720 2.4 . I found some good seats from an 88 300zx for a good price. Will these fit into my truck ?
