  1. I am rebuilding my a/c. I do not have any hoses or fittings to hook up the a/c parts together. So I need the hoses that connect the condensor to the reciever drier and the reciveer drier to the firewall. Does anyone have at least the fittings so I can get the hoses made up for my truck ? I have tried all around town to get the hoses made, and nobody seems to have the proper fittngs! I tried junkyards and I have exhusted all posiblites! So if anyone can help I would really appreciate it. I have an 83 2.4 liter 720 4x4 king cab. Thanks

  4. that stuff looks pretty trashed!
  5. from what i have gathered , I am going to get some mid nineties civic seats. I heard they fit perfectly in a 720 series. Just measure the bolts before you buy them. They should always fit from what I have been told. I am about to buy some. You an usually find them on craigs list for $50-$100 a pair .
  6. I am still trying to figure out how to go about buyi=ng a used bed. The 2 places where I found them , for some reason they both are ubable to supply me with a digital picture of the beds they have for sale. If I am going to pay $400 -$400 plus shipping for a bed, I want to see what I am buying first. I sure wish I lived out west , or at least knew someone out west that could check out these beds and let me know what kind of shape these beds are in. One is in California and the other is in Arizona. Maybe someone on this board might live in the same town where these junkl yards are at. I am going to post where they are at and maybe someone might be able to take a look for me . I am going to call them and get the details and post them on monday!
  7. That truck is a beauty! Too bad I live in Florida or I would buy it!
  8. i already took care of it. man what a difference. the engine runs so much smoother and has alot more power. the old one must have been so old ! thanks for the help!
  9. Can someone take some pics and show me exctly where they are at ? That would really help.
  10. I have a 1983 720 series pickup with a 2.4 liter engine that was bulit in 4/83. I changed the carb to a weber, so the old air filer is gone. I was looking all over for a fuel filer and could not find one anywhere, so I figured it may have went with the old carb and air filter assembly ? So I just put a new filter inline on the fuel line just before it gets to the carb. Am I just overlooking where the factory fuel filter is located on my truck ? If anyone kows please try to explain where it is located. Thanks!
  11. I ordered a new Silla A/c condensor for my 720 pickup. I had my mechanic try to put it in my truck last week, and he told me that the a/c hose fitting would not connect to the condensor. He thinks that the hoses are not from an 83 pickup and the condensor that was in my truck that was bad was not even for my truck. So now I have the correct condensor and the correct reciever drier installed, but I do not have the proper fittings to get hoses made up to connect these. What is strange is that when I called the manufacturer of the condenser a tech told me the condensor was supposed to come with the proper fitting. So I ws about to get the company to send me another one. Sure eneough I got another one sent to me today and I looked at the part and it has the same exact parts as the last one I got. Tommorow I am going to the one place in town that is my last shot that can possibly make up hoses and put the proper fitting/ends on them so they will connect properly. Has anyone had problems like this before and what did you do to correct this ? I have tried looking everywhere to find a/c hoses for my truck and they just can't be found anywhere at this point. If anyone knows where to find these hoses or maybe has the fittings please get in touch with me. I was told any 720 series hoses will work. So it does not have to come of of a 83' truck, just a 83-86. Thanks
  12. If somebody could teach me how to post pics on this site I will take pics and post pics of my truck on this thread.
  13. Today I made a bunch of calls and found a bed in great shape in california but I have to ship it clear across the country to florida. Around here there is just no older nissan pick ups in junk yards any more. I have called all over the place. The price that I found this bed for it is probally going to be worth it for me to ship it to me, than pay someone to fix all the rust on my current bed.
  14. I got some advice today from someone at a bodyshop. He told me it would be cheaper for me to try to find a new bed for my truck, instead of trying to repair all the rust . So I started making calls. I ended up calling a place out in California , and sure eneough I found a entire Bed for my truck in very good condition for $300. All I have to do is get it shipped from Cali to Florida. It is probally going to cost more in shipping than the bed itself, but it will stil be cheaper to change the bed out than pay someone to do all the rust repairs on the bed. I just hope the shipping charges aren't too much money!
  15. If anyone has any leads on where I can find one please get in touch with me . I am about to do a bunch of bodywork and it looks like the way to go is to just replace the bed, so if anyone has one for sale or knows where I can find one please let me know. Thanks.
  16. I am still checking around , and it is funny how nobody seems to want to do the job. They all want to just do basicly insurance jobs to make quick cash and get to the next job. I had several guys tell me, they just would not make much money working on something like my truck. They could do several cars and make thousands more dollars in the same amount of time and for alot less effort. That really pissed me off hearing that a few times. I did get a few shop owners that asked some of their workers if any of them wanted to take the job as a side job to take home with them. I did get some phone numbbers and a few guys that seemed pretty happy to do the work. alot of people want to sandblast the whole truck and see what they have, then start fixing the holes , With the bed, a few guys said I should just sanblast it , fix the holes, and then rhino coat it and not even bother painting it.
  17. Today I found a shop that does really nice work that charges only $42 an hour for body work. I am going to shop around a little more. But, I think I might have found the place to go! I don't have a ton of work. I need new fenders on each side up front which I see online everywhere for about $35 a side plus shipping, a new bumper which is about $45 plus shipping. Then the rust which is mostly in the bed. The sides running down the seam and then on the inside is a real mess. I am probally going to have them cut out the whole inside of the bed and just weld a whole new piece in the bottom since it is so rusted out. Hopefully I can get the whole thing done for under $2000 painted and all. I hope I am not crazy thinking that, but I will see! If I ever figure out how to post pics I will do it. I am trying to figure out what color I want to go with for paint. Right now it is white. I live in Florida, so down here, dark clors fade very easily from the sun. Unfortunatly I live in an apartment so my truck is always out in the sun. I could always buy a cover if I go with a dark paint! I am kind of tired of boring white paint! Any cool ideas for paint colors ?
  18. It really sucks when you really need certain parts and you can't find them anywhere , either at local parts stores or online. Then you call junk yards and nobody even wants to try to help you out. It is getting to be a real pain in the butt. I used to have a couple of old Landcruisers and I used to have no problem at all finding parts for them. I don't understand why they don't want to carry old parts for nissan trucks anymore. There must not be much of a demand for them anymore. BTW has anyone seen the 82 pick on EBAY that has only 7500 miles on it, that is totally factory original ? The truck is a one owner car and has been garage kept and covered with blankets for years. The thing looks like it just came out of the show room. You guys should check it out. He is asking $12,500 for the truck. I would imagine alot of people have put alot more than that trying to restore their rigs and not getting theirs to look even close to what this one looks like. I wish I had the cash to buy that truck. It is a nice ride!
  19. I am always having the hardest time finding parts for my 83 720 pickup. Isthere any places that specialize in older Nissan parts that I just don't know about ? Any help would be great since I am rebuilding mine right now.
  20. I want to bring my 720 in the shop to get all the rust taken care of. I just dont have the timew to shave off the rust and fill it in myself. So I want to bring it into a body shop and have someone do it for me. What is a reasonable hourly rate for someone to take care of rust spots and get them ready to be painted over ?
  21. I am in the same boat looking for either replacement seats or just getting my drivers seat redone. The best price I have gotten is $225. I am in Orlando Florida. I have been told that mid 90's Honda Civic seats fir perfect in a 720 truck, so I might just try to find a nice pair from a junk yard and put them in( They will probally be more comfortable anyways) .
  22. yes definately. What parts for the a/c do you have ? Please call me. I will pm you with my number.
  23. I m still having a huge problem fixing this. What happened is , the guy that had the truck before me replaced the a/c parts with different condensor and reciever /drier parts that are supposed to be on a 83'. So I ened up ordering the correct parts . Now I have the correct ones and the hoses that are in there do not have the correct fittings on there to connect to my new parts. I have called every parts store around town and I have search the internet and nobody has the hoses for an 83' anymore. I wish someone could help me out some how! If anyone out there has some old fittings laying around from an 83 please get back to me. thanks!
  24. I need both A/c hoses for my 83' king cab 720. I am rebuilding the a/c , and I have everything ready to go except I can't seem to be able to find a/c hoses anywhere. Does anyone know where I might be able to get them ? Thanks
  25. I need 2 new (used) bucket seats in my king cab 720 . It is an 83' pickup. The driver side is trashed and needs to be replaced. Is there a certain cr out there that I can easily change the seats out with my truck ? Where I am at you just cant find any parts for old nissans.
