  3. If you like old racing magazine ad graphics check out these scans. Dates are typically on the bottom of the pages. https://imgur.com/a/PtU4c
  4. Sorry I haven’t figured out how to post the actual pics in the thread.
  5. Ever wonder if these ideas are really new? Broad view, inside rear view mirror Low fuel alarm Life-time battery Body Wraps License plate protectors Club plaques Turbo or Hurricane mufflers Child safety restraints Reserve gas tanks Push-button electric doors Silicone Spray Car Wash Mitt Bobble head cat for the back window of your car I love the old ads. Some of my favorites: Cable controlled Exhaust cut-outs for $4.95 each Pin striping your car for $1.95 Spanish Mexican cat graphics on an oil can A hot rod-ing book titled "Souping" https://imgur.com/a/FHYLZ
  6. Scanned some old race magazine ads before passing them on to the next generation. Thought you might enjoy the progression of pics of babes and rides. https://imgur.com/a/1ePd6
  7. A co-worker of mine has a 94 year old grandfather drag racer, who was given credit in print and online for coining the term "dragster." An old friend of his gave him his antique racing magazine collection of Hot Rod going back to their first editions, and other unique magazines. He pulled out a few for keepsakes and gave the rest to his grand daughter. She pulled out a few and passed them along to me. They were in terrible condition, had that old paper smell, and made ya itch when they were handled. I had some knee surgery last year that gave me some down time, so I scanned some ads and articles thinking they might be some fun reading to share during the cold non-wrench-turning seasons for those of you not in Sunny CA. Then I passed them on to the next generation cuz I couldn't stand the smell of them. Again I'm now recovering from some surgery and have the time to post some for your enjoyment. The old guys can reminisce, and the new guys can get inspired to create their own events. https://imgur.com/a/3qkC3
  8. I’d put manufacturer stickers on my 620, but only on the inside of the fender or floor as a bondo backing to fill sheetmetal holes, if I didn’t have a torch to braze with, and if my truck had holes.
  9. Don’t know what you smelled, or if you just read other posts on this and speculated further and posted negatively on it? I used Peel & Seal in the rear hatch area of my 81 200sx in 2016 for $18 for a roll, and it goes a long way. You only need to cover 25% of any panel to greatly reduce vibration noise. it had zero noticeable odor when handling and installed. I taped over it with the alum tape to seal it. Live in So Cal and drive it to the Inland Empire meet in the desert in 90 degree heat, never smelled a thing. Put it in my 620 doors and it took out all the tinny twang and gave them enough weight to close and latch really solid. If you have money to burn go ahead and but the dyna or fat mat at 4 x’s the cost. I’d rather save that for other parts or tires. If you buy the expensive stuff You’ll never be able to tell the difference, but you can wear their sticker with pride and have bragging rights for sure.
  10. And don’t forget to clean out the hard dirty grease out of the tracks and roller wheels, or all the crank rebuilding won’t help you for very long either. ;)
  11. For sure. A direct replacement is always the fastest and easiest when available! Be sure to clean the replacement out with Simple Green, solvent, or Goof Off, blowing out the old grease, until you can’t blow out any old grease, the regreassing them with new grease before installing. Otherwise you’ll end up with the same broken regulator problem before very long, if you simply install the replacement regulator with 30 year old grease. FYI: In a low-budget pinch the circle type rivets can be drilled out, being sure to use the smallest bit possible so the rivet holes don’t get enlarged. The gear parts can then be cleaned with solvent, regreassed, and reassembled with fine thread bolts. But the bolt heads/nuts will first have to ground down very thin, and possibly grind off a corner or two. Loc-tire and vice-grips was used to assemble the gear assembly cover bolts the first time. The second set of regulators reconditioned like this, a hacksaw & a dreamell tool was used to cut a screw driver slot in the head of the bolt for easier tightening, and loc-title, even though there is very little rotational thrust on them. Using a bolt for the crank cover provides more binding material and is stronger than the rivets ever were. The trick is getting the bolt head thin enough, and to sit flat. Both 40 year old pair pairs worked smooth as silk, and are still in service.
  12. I found pieces from two 620 regulators, and one whole 620 pass regulator. The center crank has play in it, but it is still functional. Can also drill out the crank part, and just send crank mechanism vs the whole regulator to save shipping. You can have them for free! just pay the price of shipping. Can get you a discounted rate thru work. I can text pics this am if you pm me your cell #. Or I can email them later today if you pm me your email address. Hope this helps you resolve your water prob. Keep your window taped up in the mean time to keep the elements out.
  13. Post or PM me your email or cell number with a couple pics of the whole regulator. I was very busy today. Sorry. In the AM I’ll dig out the ones I have, think I have still have two whole 620 passenger side regulators.
  14. What part broke? I’ve reworked a number of 620 regulators with pretty good success w/o a welder. Got pics? Might have some loose parts Ii’d give you, and might have a whole 79 620 regulator.
  15. Was in Tucson AZ this AM at the Jerry Bobs restaurant for breakfast. Hadn’t had any coffee yet and was walking thru parking lot. Saw a stock 78-79 pale yellow 620 standard cab 620. The guy was standing outside of it. Before I could walk up to him, he climbed back inside. Walked my wife inside to get a table, came out to talk to the owner and maybe get a pic... he was gone.
  16. Sweet! Just to be clear, I need it from the 200sx, not the 720 B)
  17. If you’re still there I’ll take the 200Sx windshield squirted pump, working or not. Don’’t need the bottle
  18. My Deepest Thanks to: Jose Santos: Right On Jose! For hosting another chapter of The Best Datsun Swap Meet & Car Show ever. Rucky Charms: for selling off a truckload of my parts, saving my back, and cracking me up all day in your sleepless stupor. Tdaaj: for driving 34 hours round-trip to ER from WA to supply the southland with another van full of hard to find parts & part info. Juan: from Inland Empire for your upbeat personality & help machining my parts. Angela: for driving from Atascadero and back to shop for parts and visit with me and all your Datto friends Julian: for your continual kindness and help with 620 & 720 parts and for driving all the way from SF bay area Knoriega: for driving your chop-top 620 and inspiring me to finish my 620 AC project. (wish I weren't 6'4" tall, I'd ask for a ride  Red13 & son: For your drive from the Hesperia desert, and to find the most obscure and un-thought-of datto parts I've ever seen. And for your son who is an energetic source of youthful entertainment! Gene Knight: for coming in from Phoenix AZ area to sell, shop, and visit his west coast SWDP BBQ buddies. And who confessed he can take pics without everyone looking fuzzy like mine do. Chalo & Arnulfo: for being such good friends, fun repeat customers over the years, and who bring a comical challenge to the art of haggling. Russel & his main squeeze Hailey: for coming in from the Inland Empire to shop and visit, is a walking encyclopedia of Datto data. Neil from Santa Barbara (Or as Jose and I call him the BEWD):for his high energy, solution seeking, opportunity creating ideas, who was the first to make me feel a part of the community. One who makes me laugh my ass off every time we speak. (Although, I'll never be able to erase from my mind the "gross joke" he got me with yesterday. Yikes ) Inland Empire Meeting Host Robert: for getting me to reconsider a serious health choice. Nelson: for openly sharing his life choices. The 510Keeper: for coming from Penn Valley north of Sacramento, and for creating a wild man sculpture (of yourself??) Forgot to ask if it was for sale? It was really great. And for the spontaneous group hug at the end of the show. It truly is a very wide-spread but tight community of Datsun fans who trek from far away places to make this great event. It was the biggest gathering of my personal Datsun friends in the same place at the same time. Thank you Jose very much. I hope your event continues for decades to come. I wish everyone's family Thanksgiving is as nice as mine was yesterday. Thank you everyone who attended and made it possible. Oh, and least I forget... A big "shout-out" to The-Powers-That-Be for contributing another beautiful So. Cal 80 degree sunny day! (My apologies if I missed anyone in person or thanking them.)
  19. What is your heater doing or not doing? i’d drain the coolant and remove & inspect just the heater control valve if it is accessible before removing parts of the dash. They are typically seized open or shut, and can cause a number of problems.
  20. If you're going to keep Stanley for life... You might want to buy an extra #55 hose, or keep your original without cutting it B)
  21. It the orig is not useable you might have to piece on together out of different hoses and sleeves. Not impossible, just might not be pretty. Luckily it will be in Stanley's insides and out of sight, kinda like your intestines B)
  22. Another thought aside from my PM. Did you save the hoses from the junkyard donor? Maybe you took pics before you disassembled? You might have pics and forgot? The heater hoses may have some route changes if you're adding the AC unit inside under the dash?
