Different Heads for Different years on 620???

May '72 to 'Sept '73 likely a 210 used on most L16s

Oct '73 to Aug '74 likely a A-87 used on most L18s

Sept '74 to July '77 used the U67 head on the L20B .

Aug '77 to June '79 used the W58/N-56 head on the L20B. Last month for the 620

Mike, I've never seen a stock '73 L16 with a 210 head. I believe all '72-73 620s used the OPEN chamber A87, though I suppose someone with a fully original '72 620 could look (they'd have to have the original head, not a small feat 37 years later). My Mom has a '73 with the original numbers-matching engine and it's never had a head replacement (they've had it since new) and it has an open A87.

 

Some '78-79 620s had N56 heads. They were interchangeable with the W58.

06'72 to 08'72 shows the 11041 N2202SV (210) head

 

 

All these are assembly numbers and not casting numbers. Even a different washer may change the assembly number. Don't know.

up to 06'72 was 11041 N2201

after '08'72 there was:

11041 N2801

11041 N2801SV

11041 N2802SV

 

(added the N-56)
