I assume all GR starters fit most L series The stock 510 type starter Im not sure if it fits all the 5peeds(esp the 280 zx 5speed trans) as the long nose section may hit the inside back of the bellhousing(the bowl area) Not allowing to fully seat. Pacific coast Datsun Posted January 7, 2009 Report Share Posted January 7, 2009 Ya on my 83 ZX trans. i used the stock L starter & when the bendix came out it hit the bell housing. I could've shimmed the bolts but i just dealt w/ the noise. Basically when doing a trans. swap..if that trans. came w/ a GR starter youll want the right one installed. Quote Link to comment
