mklotz70 Posted June 17 Report Share Posted June 17 that's perfectly normal. If the seal was pulled out, the bearing would come out, too. There's no play when the assembly is installed on the spindle and the spindle nut is properly tighted. Quote Link to comment

datzenmike Posted June 18 Report Share Posted June 18 When greased and installed with the nut tightened to like 30 ft lbs then loosened about 1/8 turn, or something, and then locked in place. Basically a small pre-load. I fish scale is used to pull one of the lugs. The starting torque to begin the hub turning should fall with in a set limit. If too tight the nut can be loosened further to try to get it in range. This is abbreviated but close. Quote Link to comment
