Here is the 4WD switch.On page TF-3 in the 85 Nissan Service manual.I just got my flash light and found it.Get a 19 mm or a 3/4 inch open wrench end and take it off.I just put the wrenches on it.To get to it.Where the drive shaft from the front comes into the transfer case.The is a opening there to get your wrench on it.Also it is below the emergency brake cable adjuster.Easy to get to.Use a flash light.May have to go thru the side to get the 2 wires off of it.

Unplug the switch and get a $5 test lamp and check the Red/Blue wire for 12v. Place in 4WD and check the Black wire for 12v. If you get 12v then the switch is working and the Black ground wire isn't grounded. If everything checks out there is a remote chance the bulb may be burned out
