Dirtyowlnumber4
I figure these have something to do with voltage regulation but I'm not sure. I am going to try and get an internally regulated alternator on this car anyway so I'll have to wire off the voltage regulator but figured I should ID it before I pulled it out. One is getting impressively hot, and the ignition won't turn on unless I tap on the other one a few times. 1 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Top is obviously two relays. Red wires are usually for selecting hi/low headlights. Try it and see if they click. Green may be an ignition relay? No idea. Bottom is external voltage regulator. Quote Link to comment
Dirtyowlnumber4
Sweet then I'll pull out that regulator and clean up those relays. Ign. relay would make sense because I have to fiddle with it to make the idiot thing turn on. I ordered a gm 1 wire alternator for it so I'll report back if it fits on. Quote Link to comment

bananahamuck
here's one of mine, lights seem to work correctly Car is 66 411 but wiring was copied off 67 411, i don't have voltage regulator since i am running 93-94 pathfinder, internally regulated alternator ,, fits with no bracket mods.. it is basically a two wire setup . man that is a mess ,, maybe i should start cleaning instead of just driving haha .
