It'll sound better but won't make a lot more power because the cam in there is a little mild and can't use all of the carburetor upgrade effectively. A medium cam upgrade would really help. Someone here can offer help on this.

What goes in has to get out. What ever the exhaust pipe diameter is, replace with a custom one that is 1/4" larger. Doesn't take much for a big increase in flow. If you have a 1 1/2" pipe, going to a 1.3/4" is a 36% increase!!!!! more than enough. Next is a turbo style muffler. This is not an annoying straight through fart cannon but is filled with sound deadner and some baffling is far less restrictive than the stock quiet muffler and easier to live with.

Header? This is up to you. The farther you go down the performance road the more a header will help. It does nothing around town and improves top end. Beware that they are expensive and will not last and eventually need replacing. Expensive ones that are ceramic coated will last the longest. Hang onto your old exhaust manifold in case you want to switch back in the future.

If you don't have emissions testing and have a catalytic converter, get rid of it.

Short answers.

Nope

Nope

Nope

It will sound good with a bigger exhaust, but it won't make any better horsepower without some port work and a cam and some distributor mods. Throttle response will likely be worse with the dual carbs than with the DGV.

Not saying you shouldn't install them. Just explaining that there is more to it than that.
