DmanDLX620
Hey will the front drive shaft 5speed work on a 4speed? Noob here Quote Link to comment
Crashtd420
Are these both the same series transmission... 71b.. then yes.... Just make sure they are the same lengths... The spline also fit the earlier 63 series but those 4spds are shorter.... And there is also a short 71b 5 spd.... Quote Link to comment
DmanDLX620
71b 4speed is the transmission. I need a driveshaft and have located a front section from a 5speed. Thanks Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
All '74 and up 4 and 5 speed manual and 3 speed automatic front driveshafts should be the same length. Quote Link to comment
DmanDLX620
Splines are the same count Quote Link to comment
DmanDLX620
Does anyone know the length of back driveshaft? KC reg bed 4 bed hooks Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The KC should be the same length as the regular cab long wheelbase. They are the same frame length just different cab and box lengths. The regular cab short wheelbase has the shorter frame and shorter rear drive shaft.. 10 minutes ago, DmanDLX620 said: Splines are the same count Is that a statement or question? Haven't seen any drive shaft/transmission splines on Datsun or Nissan that did not match. Possibly the '81-83 280zx automatic and drive shaft spline might be different... maybe but you won't be running into that.. Quote Link to comment
DmanDLX620
Sorry Mike. Question. Punctuation is not my forte. Yes I was concerned about spline count matching from a 5-speed to 4-speed. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
If only kidding as usual. The A series transmissions and D/S might be smaller but all L, Z, SD, LD, CA, VG and KA series cars and trucks are the same Quote Link to comment
