Nissan 720 swap recommendations

Hey guys I have a Nissan 720 4x4 with the z24 I lose a lot of power going up hills and I drive on highways most of my time where the limit is 65 to 70 and when going up these hills I nearly have to sift to second because I lose power to 30 to 40mph and it has a oil leak but it runs decent and I would suggestions on what I could swap in there or suggestions on how to fix the issue?

I am a bit biased but the single cam KA24E is a great engine to swap in.

Your forum name makes me think you likely have oversized tires on your truck. If that is the case then that's likely why the truck is so sluggish. These motors don't have a lot of power, they don't take kindly to larger than stock tires. With stock size tires they move along adequately.

Good point, regearing for larger tires is a real good idea. I have 4:88 gears in my 4x4 620 with 35"s

Your speedometer will read much much slower that you are actually going also.

 

If you were running 33" tires and going 40 MPH your true speed is 50.76 MPH
