macarose
Hi there. Hope all is well. I just acquired a 1984 Nissan 720 that's missing the dipstick as well as the metal ring insert that the dipstick goes into. If anyone can help me track down these two parts it would be a huge help. Amazon and Ebay are apparently showing items that don't belong to this truck and when I go elsewhere, I get a lot of 'out of stock' postings. All the best! Quote Link to comment
Bleach
I believe that engine was used from about 1981-89 in the trucks. There are a few wrecking yards in NC that have trucks. That might be a good option although it can be quite a drive. https://row52.com/Search/?YMMorVin=YMM&Year=1981-89&V1=&V2=&V3=&V4=&V5=&V6=&V7=&V8=&V9=&V10=&V11=&V12=&V13=&V14=&V15=&V16=&V17=&ZipCode=31603&Page=1&ModelId=3774&MakeId=193&LocationId=&IsVin=false&Distance=500 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The part number for the Z20 and the Z24 in the 720 2wd are the same. Z22 is vastly different and so are the Z20 and Z22 car applications. Must be differences in the oil pans. The D21 Hardbody uses a different dip stick also. Look for Nov. '82 build dates and up through '85 in the 720 Quote Link to comment
720_Jeff
Just throwing a couple ideas out Row52 appears to have the function to help you request parts. Haven't tried myself, but seems like it could work. You'll need to create an account for yourself. Another, is look at eBay. You can usually find tow yards/salvage yards that are parting out Nissan 720's. Here is a couple of such sellers https://www.ebay.com/str/golddat https://www.ebay.com/str/bandrautowrecking Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I suppose any Z series dip stick will be close. Just make sure you fill with the required amount of oil in the pan and the filter full and check the dip stick. It may be above or below the fill line but you'll know. Quote Link to comment
macarose
Thanks everyone! This model takes 3.8 quarts so I'm going to go ahead and stick with those 2.0 and 2.4 engines that have the same dipstick and tube. I also looked on Ebay and have a few good leads as well. All the best! Quote Link to comment
