Running lights issue

Datsun B-310/210

Running light fuse breaking each start of the engine... Maybe a short circuit... I read on a wiring diagram that it's the red w/ green stripe wire.

I see that my red w/ green stripe wire under the steering wheel disconnected from wherever it was plugged in at.

Anyone know where it might have disconnected from?

There's probably more than one Red/Green wire. Be sure this is the correct one. Being disconnected won't blow the fuse.

I would confirm that you have the correct amperage fuse.

Can I assume that the running lights (front and rear parking lights, license lights, clearance lights and dash lights) are fine being on without the engine on???  I would get a meter and check the engine running charge rate across the battery terminals. Maybe the alternator is over charging??? If (for example) 18v that 50% more current flowing than 12v with engine off and might be enough to blow the fuse.

Even just turning the key to accessory mode blows the 15A fuse...

😂 I also might not be an electrician

Most likely have to go to each red w/ green wire and just look to see if it roasted somewhere or just disconnected...

Or would there be more going on than that?

You haven't answered one of my questions.

1/ Did you check that you have the correct fuse amperage???????

Headlight switch to first position. Front and rear parking lights, license lights, clearance lights and dash lights all come on normally???? YES????

2/ Does the fuse blow????
