datzenmike Posted June 13, 2020 Report Share Posted June 13, 2020 On some later trucks these switches plus a clutch switch and an engine vacuum switch was used to turn the idle cut solenoid off during deceleration. If you think about it, the carburetor is at idle when your foot is off the pedal. That idle gas is not needed to keep the car going as vehicle speed does that. As long as you are in gear, with the clutch pedal up and engine vacuum above a set amount then the idle cut is off. Saves gas too!!!. Quote Link to comment
