Schartk
I am able to start engine by pouring a little gas directly into carb, engine will only continue to run with me manipulating throttle. there is fuel getting to float bowl. Had carb apart and sprayed carb cleaner throughout. Any help suggestions appreciated. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Is the choke connected and working? What vehicle, year, engine? I've driven from 5 to 97 through Lone Butte. Quote Link to comment
Schartk
I can not give you a definite year as this engine has been pulled out of the car and runs a small tractor now. aprox 1980ish from what I can 82 210 carb. the tractor was parked in November and I did some other work to tractor over winter. the engine has always ran so well. the problem started immediately this spring after completing other maintenance. drained old fuel and replaced. will start on occasion without putting gas directly into carb. as far as I can tell choke is working. You would have gone within 2 km of my place (Fawn Lake) Quote Link to comment

When you did this, did you remove the idle ,main and secondary jets.... There are some that have cross though holes.... some might even need to be cleaned out with a wire tool.... you may just have plugged jets... Quote Link to comment
