K Appley
I have a factory rebuilt A 14 that I purchased on flea bay years ago and am finally going to use it. The question I have is how to fit the water intake pipe. The rebuild's came with the pipe removed. Is it just a interference fit or should it be fitted with some special sealer? I was thinking maybe some loc tite. Kurt Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
I'm sure there is a recommended sealer, but I can think of three or four that would work. Threebond 1211 and the Right Stuff would work. I would probably use a two part epoxy just to be on the safe side. Quote Link to comment
K Appley
Epoxy would be a good idea. I have Threebond. Was hopeing a former Datsun mechanic with personal experience would be able to give me the factory recommendation!😊 Kurt Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
In it's original form, I don't think the factory used any sealer, but they also have the correct tools to clamp the tube for install. Think Chevy oil pump pickup installation tool. Quote Link to comment
Tom1200
I am not a Datsun mechanic nor have a I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express but on the two I've actually had to install I just used JB Weld. The factory ones do seem like the are bonded to the block. The last time I had to remove a factory installed one if took me close to an hour to get it out, I had to use heat on the block. 1 Quote Link to comment
