NVFireFighter
Hey guys, I was running around doing the DMV thing today and I went to start the truck and it started right up for a sec, then there was a puff of smoke coming from under the dash/steering column and it stopped running?? Now, it turns over fine, but won't catch. I'm ASSuming it is the power lead to the coil or something similar? Anyone have this happen? Any fixes right off the bat? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
It may be the fuse box which is just to the left of the steering column. Look for anything burnt. Hold a quarter across the fuse clips and try each fuse. If it fires up that's the bad fuse. Unscrew the two piece clam shell around the steering column to access the ignition switch. Visually inspect it Quote Link to comment
