Spindles and Disk Brakes for a 77 620?

Was the other grabby brake a Dodge? My first car was my dad's '64 Polara. Knowing it could do this if there was precipitation or fog I would drive the first half block with the brake on to warm them up. This was also before seat belts and it was a single master cylinder. (shudder)

I guess the bottom line here is, if I buy the truck, which is very likely, I won’t be in hurry to convert to disc brakes because it’s not as straightforward as I’d hoped, and the general consensus is drum brakes are only dangerous under certain conditions, and I can avoid driving in those conditions. Thanks to everyone who replied, each of you were a huge help.
