5t341tH
Hey guys I have a worrying issue I am having. I have LEDs in my gauge cluster for all the bulbs in there. Just wondering why the bulbs are super hot. So hot, that I can't even hold onto the bulb itself. Anyone else have this kinda issue? I have a 90amp alternator on my truck if it matters. The LED bulbs get so hot that they begin to fail. And these aren't cheap bulbs either. Any Ideas? 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Are they rated for up to 14.5 volts??? This is what they are going to 'see' from a properly working charging system. Get a volt meter and see what your voltage is when the engine is revved up. Maybe over charging? 1 Quote Link to comment
5t341tH
Should i test for voltage at the battery or the light bulb terminals? These led bulbs are pretty universal. I use them on every car with no issues 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Start with the battery, it's easier and certainly won't be higher in the gauge cluster. 1 Quote Link to comment
