ariascarlos1990
Ok, So today I was driving and noticed my temperature gauge is reading supper hot! Luckily I was close to home! After it cooled down I took the radiator out and noticed a huge hole in it. I then got another one from my buddy which he had in datsun but, then noticed there are two little tubes coming out of the bottom on mine. There are not these tubes on the one I Got from him Are these tubes needed to put the other radiator in or not? The one without the tubes came out of and L20 and mine is to. What are the tubes for? can they be plugged? I really need some help with this one so I can make it to the beaverton meet! :D Thanks to all the help provided! Quote Link to comment
Bugeye
you can plug the tubes, they are for auto trannys, I have one in my 620 and I just plugged them Quote Link to comment
ariascarlos1990
That's what I was thinking. Since the other truck I got it out of has a 4 speed. Is it kinda like a fluid cooler? Quote Link to comment
ariascarlos1990
Oh yeah, I have an auto tranny in my truck will this effect anything? Quote Link to comment
Bugeye
so the one you got from your buddy doesn't have the tubes? The tubes are for the transmission cooler lines Quote Link to comment

Bugeye
im not sure if you can use the one from your buddy without running the risk of torching the transmission Quote Link to comment

Cuts metal like mad
There is a tube (or tubes) that run through the rad, the transmission fluid goes through and is cooled by the coolant in the radiator... It's a no go unles you use an external cooler Quote Link to comment
ariascarlos1990
Are you sure its tranny fluid? If it is we have a problem... lol Quote Link to comment
Bugeye
yeah, its for tranny fluid...... Quote Link to comment
Cuts metal like mad
Yeah I had an internal puncture on a 240sx auto I got REAL cheap... There was oil in the water and I thought head gasket... Nope, granny went bad from the water, and engine went bad from the transmission fluid. At least I sold it for more than I paid. ariascarlos1990
Well thats not good then. Because the fluid is black ass hell! is there an alternative? like just conecting the two line together? Or do I need the coolor? Quote Link to comment

Bugeye
ok from the looks of it, you can remove the plugs from his, and carefully remove the lines from yours..... Quote Link to comment
