'86 720 engine swap

I have a 86 2.4 that just slung a rod trying to find a engine if any can help. no one seems to knows what year model will fit

If just the block.... they were used in the 720 from Nov. '82 build dates....Or just into the beginning of the '83 model year through 'Dec '85 build date or half way through the '86 model year. The '86.5 through '89 model year D-21 Hardbody and '87 through '89 model year WD-21 Pathfinder also used the Z24i engine. HOWEVER late 720 and all D-21 and WD-21 vehicles used EFI so you would need your carb, intake and distributor and just swap the block.

So, to simplify z24 was used in Nissan trucks/suvs from late 82 until 89. Block is interchangeable between all years, but for some of the bits bolted to the block, you need to reuse your old parts.
