Star_Chief
Hello, I was wondering if anybody knew how to remove the accelerator pedal return spring, as it needs to be retensioned. It is currently loose and when I let off the gas, the spring does not have enough tension to push the pedal back into its resting position. Thank you! Quote Link to comment

flatcat19
I have removed all the springs and reinstalled them with my hands. If more tension exists, grab some side cutters to remove. Don't cut them. Use side cutters to get a better grip. Quote Link to comment
DanielC
Grab the loop of the spring above the pedal pivot with a pair of pliers, or your fingers, pull it back and sideways to disengage it from the pedal arm. There should be a circlip on the pedal pivot, on the side toward the transmission. Remove it carefully, they tend to spring off and get lost. The pedal can now slide away from the transmission, and out of the pedal plastic bushing and bracket. Remove the plastic bushing out of the bracket the same way. The pedal return spring can now be pulled straight back if it did not fall out already. 3 Quote Link to comment
