cruznude
So I get a call from my neighbor where my truck is parked, and he says the freakiest thing is happening with tour truck. The left tail light came on during the day and didn't notice until it got dark. I haven't been in the truck for 2 weeks. The tail light goes off when I put the left turn signal on. When I take the turn signal back off the light comes on. Everything was working fine until yesterday. Any clues? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Do the brake lights work normally? Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
Check the hazard switch, too. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
If OK then likely a wire off (unsoldered) behind the steering wheel. Quote Link to comment
cruznude
Yes the brake lights work and so does hazards. I will look at the steering column today and see what going on. Thanks Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Only way to really get at the solder joints is to remove the wheel. I had a rear brake light stop working. just a wire came off. I expect it will be very obvious once the wheel is off. Quote Link to comment
cruznude
It's crazy though. I haven't been in the truck for weeks. Quote Link to comment
cruznude
okay, so I took off the steering wheel and column cover and every wire is in place. Do you think I might have to take turn signal comletely off and clean all the contacts and such? Is there a cleaner that can do this? Quote Link to comment
