maswov
Is anyone running 16" rims on their 120? I currently have 15"rims, width I am not too sure about as they had been modified by a PO, but they are wide. I like them wide but I am having a hell of a time finding tires to fit. I decided I will buy new rims and get a set of slicks for what I have now since there is a greater selection of track tires for 15's. Initially I was looking at slightly narrower rims but still the selection is slim. There are much more options getting into the 16's and I have worked out a few setups that would work, but I am just thinking 16's might look too large and out of place. Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
https://www.rsracing.com/TechWheel.aspx That link will show you how to measure your rims. With those measurements, you can convert backspacing to offset here: http://www.weldwheels.com/ccwheel/faqs/converter/ Then you can compare other size rims and tires as see how they match up to your current setup by going here: http://www.willtheyfit.com/ With that you should be able to tell anything you need to know except how a 16 will look on your car. And that's just up to your personal tastes. Quote Link to comment

The rims will look weird as the cars esthetics are balanced around a 13" rim. Usually you can go one inch larger and it's not too noticeable. As for tire size. I think the B-210 came with 155/80R13 (someone correct me) about 23" tall on a 16" rim a 160/55R16 tire is very close to the same height so the speedo and performance is not affected. maswov
Thanks that's some good info for offset and backspace. Wasn't sure on how to figure that out. I think the 15's I have now look nice but that was my concern that the 16's would be just a bit too big. Currently on the front I have 195/50R15 and 205/55R15 on the back that's about 22.7" and 23.9" respectively, so not far off from stock. The 16's I am looking at are 225/50R16 and 175/50R16, that would give me another inch in the back and the front would be about the same but a little bit more narrow. I would prefer 15's but just keeping options open due to the limited selection. Quote Link to comment

maswov
Thanks, that's just what I needed. The 16 on the front looked ok something a little more open like a 5 spoke would look better IMO. Could be the angle too, the one with the 17's was from the side and that looked a little too big. My fenders are cut back a bit with some flares so 16's might not look too bad if I can't find 15's I like. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I find the old cars 'look' best with lots of tire showing. A 16" rim is 1.5" of missing rubber all the way round and it 'looks' like you are running on rubber coated rims. That's exaggerated. Newer cars with the large rims 'look' right, older ones seem strange somehow. I guess I just see vintage cars with vintage wheels and tires. 1 Quote Link to comment
