AirbourneDatsun
I picked up this 79 620kc and went to put this L20b in it and it has a front sump pan on it. The engine came out of a 411 wagon, of course it didn't really fit in it, so I got to hear it run before I bought it for 200.00, then I ran into the oil pan issue when trying to install it. Just for your information the 411 engine compartment is too short for a L series. The hood wont shut and looks pretty dumb with a hood scoop. So, to save some time I'm just curious if anyone knows off hand before I go to yard and pull a pan off a truck when I may already have a pan that works. It looks like it will work but thought I would check with the Ratsun site. Thanks for any input! Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The 620 uses a mid to rear sump oil pan so there is clearance at the front for the steering cross rod and the frame cross member support for the torsion bar mounts. So no, a 510 pan will not work as the steering is in the rear. When you get a 620 pan be sure to get the pick up tube and the dip stick that matches it. Quote Link to comment

AirbourneDatsun
I got the new oil pan off a 1980 720 L22. It appears to be correct. installed tonight going to put it into the truck tomorrow. I would post pics but it seems photobucket wants credit card info. Any suggestions? Thanks for the reply, it saved me some time for sure. Quote Link to comment
