City Hunter
I'm converting back to a mechanical fuel pump on my 72 z which has a 280z fi engine in it right now. I got a fuel pumper slider deal that goes on the cam bolt to trigger the fuel pump but it seems to hit the valve cover on the l28. My question is, is the l4 engine slider deals different than the l6? Or is my valve cover off this fi engine slightly different. Quote Link to comment

philip1
the pumps should be the same if it hits the cover you may not have the right pump. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
You mean the cam eccentric that works the fuel pump arm? All L series should be the same. When you put the pump on did you remember to put the 1/4" plastic spacer between the pump and the head?????? Quote Link to comment

City Hunter
yeah found the problem. The inline 4 l series spacers are different than the inline 6. There is a small portion that sticks up past the head I didnt notice. You are right though the eccentric is the same, but I grabbed a spare just in case. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
