411gerardo
Hey guy just wondering if anybody here has done a sr swap on 410/411 and if so have you had problems with the diff or chassis twisting? Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
No chassis, just front and rear subframes. So your problem would be Integrated full body united suspension! Quote Link to comment
Borganism
Im thinking of an SR16 in mine if I can make it fit. Not as much power, but redline is at 8600 with the right model. Im not sure the chassis could handle anything too extreme anyway. I have seen one picture on the internet of a 410 ute with an SR20, and ive seen pics and vids of a KA24 in a 411 which I assume is a bigger motor. Both are possible it looks like. Im going to aim for the smaller engine to try and help it get past the engineering easier, still need a lot of advice on the legality side of things before I go too far down the road. I also have a free 4AGE toyota engine sitting in the shed but I dont want to mix brands if I can avoid it. Have you made any headway into getting information? Quote Link to comment
DISLEXICDIME
you will have chassi twisting issues my first sr 510 tore it self apart. The c pillars started ripping out of the 1/4's and my roof had asmany waves in it as the ocean 2 Quote Link to comment
411gerardo
Hey guys. I have looked into it more and found that the sr20det puts about 225-240 stock set up. So I defiantly will be putting in a supports possibly making a cage. Not sure yet. Still trying to find rubber dampers for the subframe and leaf spring bushing. Quote Link to comment
Cahoon520
Did you buy the 411 in Coaldale? Quote Link to comment
Swedishcadillac
I just looked at mine and it reminded me of the time I made a swaybar bushing for my 1983 civic S out of a skateboard wheel. The part was totally NLA and rare so I used a drill and grinder and turned a skateboard wheel down to the bushing I needed. They're made out of high-quality urethane and the subframe bushings are about the size of an old-school big wheel. Hey it's Ratsun it might just work! I'd go for the softest compound you could find. They're very hard to cut so I used a 4 1/2 inch Makita grinder with 24 grit sandpaper with the backer pad. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
What about a CA16DE/CA18DE? Heaps of fun, high revving, and small? Quote Link to comment
Swedishcadillac
Or A-series with 5spd. One of the easiest swaps, high revs and easy to find parts. That's what I'm doing now... Quote Link to comment
411gerardo
Yes it was the one in Coaldale. Quote Link to comment
